Stake Center Locating is actively seeking entry-level Locate Technicians for field work in Macon, Georgia. This position involves identifying and marking underground utilities to prevent damage and promote safety within the community. The role offers paid, comprehensive training and requires an individual comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions, capable of working independently, and skilled in quick, precise problem-solving.

Compensation and Benefits

• Starting hourly wage of $20.00.

Key Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety in all job activities.
• Utilize laptops to receive, document, and process work tickets and manage email communications.
• Interpret maps and blueprints to plan the most effective methods and sequencing for locating underground utilities.
• Operate provided locating technology and equipment accurately in the field.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues, supervisors, and homeowners.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent credential required.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Physical ability to walk up to five miles multiple times per week and carry up to 5 pounds of electronic equipment for extended periods, including lifting objects up to 25 pounds or using tools for heavier objects of up to 75 pounds.
• Successful completion of pre-employment background check and drug screening.

Work Schedule and Additional Requirements

• Availability for flexible work hours, including some evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays, depending on workload.
• Participation in on-call rotation for emergency response during scheduled shifts.
