Job Overview

As a Store Associate at ALDI, you will be tasked with ensuring the store operates smoothly through various functions such as stocking shelves, handling cashier duties, and maintaining cleanliness to deliver an exceptional shopping environment. You will work collaboratively with the ALDI team to enhance the customer experience.

Work Schedule and Pay

• Position is full-time with an average of over 30 hours weekly.
• Starting pay is $20.00 per hour.
• Wage increments occur yearly: Year 2: $20.50/hr, Year 3 & 4: $21.00/hr, Year 5: $22.00/hr.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service following company principles, escalating concerns as needed.
• Report losses from outdated or damaged merchandise to management.
• Utilize the point-of-sale system accurately and notify management of any scanning issues.
• Comply with cash handling policies and procedures.
• Manage checkout lanes efficiently, opening extra lanes when necessary to maintain quick service.
• Stock shelves and displays neatly according to merchandising plans to maximize sales.
• Fulfill curbside pickup orders by accurately selecting items and ensuring timely delivery to customers’ vehicles.
• Maintain store zones and merchandising standards consistently.
• Support management in operational efficiency and loss reduction goals.
• Adhere to company policies and processes at all times.
• Contribute to maintaining a safe workplace by identifying hazards, applying proper ergonomics, and ensuring equipment functionality.
• Follow inventory and product handling procedures diligently.
• Perform cleaning tasks up to company standards.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, stand, sit, reach, grasp, twist, bend, and move within the work area.
• Capable of lifting and placing products up to 45 pounds at various heights, including overhead.
• Proficiency in operating equipment such as cash registers, hand jacks (electric and manual), floor scrubbers, and cardboard balers.
• Willingness to stock products in various temperature zones including cooler and freezer environments.
• Experienced use of glass and multi-purpose cleaning agents.

Qualifications

• Provide prompt, polite customer service.
• Operate store equipment including registers, floor scrubbers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
• Understand and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures.
• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Perform basic math operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Follow instructions thoroughly and pay close attention to detail.
• Work independently and collaboratively.
• Organize, prioritize, and complete assignments efficiently within timeframes.
• Maintain dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Meet availability requirements for scheduling.

Education & Experience

• Candidates must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Previous retail experience is an advantage.
