Full-Time Store Associate

Role Overview

Join ALDI as a Store Associate responsible for a variety of store operations including stocking merchandise, operating the cash register, and maintaining store cleanliness to enhance the shopping experience. Collaborate with team members to provide outstanding customer service.

Position Details

• Employment Type: Full-Time
• Average Work Hours: 30+ hours per week
• Starting Wage: $19.00 per hour
• Wage Progression: $19.50/hour at Year 2, $20.00/hour Years 3-4, $21.00/hour Year 5

Key Responsibilities

• Exemplify outstanding customer service and escalate issues to management when necessary.
• Report product losses due to damage or expiration to store leadership.
• Operate the POS system accurately and notify management of scanning errors.
• Adhere strictly to cash handling policies.
• Manage checkout lines efficiently, opening additional lanes to avoid delays.
• Stock shelves and displays following merchandising guidelines to optimize appeal and sales.
• Fulfill curbside pickup orders by correctly selecting items and ensuring prompt delivery to customers.
• Maintain high standards of zone organization and merchandising.
• Support management in achieving store operational and loss reduction goals.
• Follow all company policies and contribute to creating a safe work environment by addressing hazards and maintenance issues.
• Comply with inventory controls and product handling standards.
• Perform general cleaning to maintain store standards.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to push, pull, sit, stand, reach, twist, bend, and move throughout the store.
• Lift and place items up to 45 pounds, including overhead shelves.
• Operate various equipment such as cash registers, hand jacks, floor scrubbers, and balers.
• Work across different temperature settings including coolers and freezers.
• Use cleaning products safely and effectively.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service focus with courteous communication skills.
• Experience or ability to operate store equipment (registers, pallet jacks, cleaning machines, etc.).
• Capability to understand and implement company policies and procedures.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Organizational skills to prioritize and complete tasks efficiently.
• Dependable attendance and availability that meets store requirements.

Education and Experience

• Minimum age requirement: 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous retail experience preferred but not mandatory.
