Role Overview
We seek a dedicated Front Store Manager for our Sandstone Pharmacies Sprague location in Calgary, Alberta, to lead and support store initiatives aligned with strategic goals. This role demands managing daily store operations including cash handling, employee management, inventory control, and promotional activities while ensuring compliance with company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive initiatives that support the store's strategic objectives and ensure alignment with company policies.
- Cultivate a positive workplace environment that attracts, retains, and motivates employees in line with the Neighbourly Pharmacy policy manual.
- Supervise procedures regarding returns, complaints, store security, and employee discounts, delegating duties as appropriate.
- Manage cash handling tasks such as daily reporting, banking, and deposits, or delegate these responsibilities to trusted staff.
- Ensure adherence to store opening and closing protocols, including alarm activation and end-of-day responsibilities.
- Oversee front store staffing requirements; collaborate with HR in recruitment, discipline, and termination processes.
- Monitor inventory adhering to budgets and supplier agreements; assist with budgeting, purchasing, pricing, and inventory strategies to maximize profitability.
- Implement and manage promotional campaigns, including ordering and setup, adjusting tactics based on market trends.
- Control shrinkage through proper handling of returns, payouts, theft prevention, and pricing accuracy.
- Manage the Monthly Cycle Count Schedule and report inventory to the Inventory Manager.
- Coordinate signage and point of purchase materials such as banners, promotional signs, and shelf talkers.
- Perform miscellaneous tasks to assist the Store Operator and Pharmacy Manager.
Qualifications
- Minimum of two years' experience in retail management, preferably with a proven record of team leadership and training.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including motivating teams, delegation, resolving conflicts, active listening, and respectful communication.
- Professional demeanor with excellent communication skills for effective interaction with customers, colleagues, and suppliers.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license.
- Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check is mandatory.
