Freight Forwarder

Position Overview

DSV is seeking a dedicated Freight Forwarder to join our Cross Trade Operations team based in Shannon, Ireland. This role involves managing international freight shipments across air, ocean, and road modes while maintaining exceptional customer service and operational efficiency.

Work Schedule

Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, totaling 37.5 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate the entire process of international shipments from initial booking through to final delivery.
• Provide transparent end-to-end supply chain visibility involving suppliers, carriers, and logistics partners.
• Ensure all operational activities comply with set service levels, KPIs, SOPs, revenue targets, and cost controls.
• Monitor shipment progress closely and keep customers and stakeholders proactively informed.
• Identify and resolve potential disruptions in the supply chain before affecting operations.
• Facilitate seamless information exchange and prompt communication among all transportation parties.
• Accurately complete all operational documentation and administrative tasks on schedule.
• Utilize freight management systems, booking platforms, and tracking tools efficiently to oversee shipments.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts aligned with departmental and company goals.
• Establish and maintain strong collaborative relationships with customers, suppliers, carriers, and global colleagues.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Proven experience in freight forwarding within Ireland, with expertise in air, ocean, and road freight operations.
• Proficiency in managing international shipments using freight management software and tracking platforms.
• Comprehensive understanding of freight rates, carrier networks, and supply chain procedures.
• Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities capable of handling multiple priorities.
• Strong communication skills and commitment to superior customer service and stakeholder management.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
• Ability to maintain precision and perform under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
• Compliance with IAA Aviation Security training and relevant regulations.
• Highly motivated, adaptable, and focused on delivering outstanding service quality.

• Experience with both import and export freight forwarding processes.
• Knowledge across various transport modes and industry sectors.
• Background in logistics and distribution industries.
• Experience in operational KPI reporting and performance management.
• Leadership or mentoring experience is beneficial.
