About the Role
Join DSV as a Freight Forwarder within our Control Tower team based in Shannon, County Clare, Ireland. This full-time position involves monitoring customer orders and shipments throughout the supply chain to ensure full transparency, maintain excellent customer communication, and support operational performance. The role works Monday to Friday for 37.5 hours weekly.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain comprehensive visibility and control over customer orders and shipment processes across the logistics network.
- Provide professional, timely updates and efficiently manage customer inquiries.
- Operate in accordance with service level agreements, key performance indicators, standard operating procedures, and financial parameters.
- Accurately handle administrative duties such as file management, invoicing, customs paperwork, and system entries.
- Prepare and manage in-transit shipment reports with precision.
- Proactively share information among suppliers, carriers, and external logistics partners.
- Detect and promptly escalate early warning signs to avoid potential disruptions in the supply chain.
- Contribute towards team, branch, and organizational objectives.
- Develop strong working relationships within internal teams including Air Freight, Commercial, Finance, HR, and Brokerage departments.
- Engage respectfully and effectively with external stakeholders like airlines, agents, international offices, and customers.
Candidate Profile
- Previous experience in administrative and customer service roles, preferably within logistics or distribution environments.
- Proficient with data management software and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent organizational and planning abilities with the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Consistent delivery of projects and assignments with accuracy and timeliness.
- Strong analytical capabilities and practical problem-solving skills with a solutions-focused mindset.
- Good knowledge of operational procedures and willingness to adapt to support different functions.
- Clear and focused communication skills with a dedication to outstanding customer service and relationship management.
- Attention to detail, ensuring quality and precision in all tasks.
- Proactive, flexible, and able to thrive in a fast-paced workplace.
