About the Role
Join Broadcom's Central Engineering Group as a Foundation IP Memory Verification Engineer and be part of a highly skilled team responsible for developing advanced foundation IP supporting AI products. This includes work on memory compilers, logic cells, and custom memory macros utilizing cutting-edge process technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the functional verification and design validation of various custom memory macros and memory compilers.
- Identify and analyze design discrepancies, performing root cause analysis and assisting to resolve issues.
- Conduct signal integrity analyses to uncover design weaknesses and propose remediation strategies.
- Execute transistor-level simulations to detect and address power-up or lock-up concerns.
- Carry out Electromigration (EM) and IR drop analysis to evaluate their impact on timing and internal margins.
- Validate timing and internal margins through transistor-level simulations and identify any characterization gaps.
- Perform quality assurance and validation checks to ensure timing and power models are precise.
- Develop automation scripts to streamline verification processes and aid data analysis.
- Support silicon debugging efforts and correlate findings with SPICE models.
- Collaborate closely with memory designers to enhance characterization and validation workflows.
- Coordinate efforts with memory design leads, modelling leads, and management to define and implement the memory validation plan.
Preferred Skills and Competencies
- In-depth knowledge of transistor-level circuit behavior and device physics.
- Strong understanding of signal integrity, EM/IR, and reliability analyses.
- Proficiency with simulators and scripting for automation, including adeptness in relevant EDA tools.
- Familiarity with memory behavioral and physical modeling is advantageous.
- Expertise in memory circuit design and familiarity with Design-for-Test (DFT) schemes is beneficial.
- Experience with chip-level integration processes is a plus.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership qualities.
- Self-motivated and capable of handling multiple tasks efficiently.
- Passion for tackling complex engineering challenges and continuous learning mindset.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or Computer Engineering with at least 2 years of pertinent industry experience is required.
