Job description
Position Overview
Join Broadcom's Edinburgh Analog/Mixed-Signal design team as a Senior or Principal Analog/Mixed-Signal Layout Engineer, specializing in nanometer CMOS technologies. You'll play a crucial role in implementing analog and mixed-signal layouts for bespoke Mixed-Signal ASIC products.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate closely with circuit design teams to develop layouts of analog and mixed-signal circuits utilizing leading industry layout and physical verification software. Manage layout planning, scheduling, floorplanning, integrating top-level IPs, and chip assembly tasks required for tapeout. Ensure adherence to established tapeout processes and supervise both local and remote layout teams while providing training on layout methodologies.
Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate will hold a B.Eng or M.Sc in Electronic Engineering or possess equivalent practical experience. Proficiency is required in layout for mixed-signal analog IC components such as ADCs, PGAs, DACs, filters, drivers, power management, and clocking circuits. Experience overseeing the layout of analog top-levels and substantial analog/mixed-signal IP blocks is essential. Expertise in advanced nanometer CMOS layout technologies and a comprehensive understanding of physical layout and verification workflows (including Cadence Virtuoso Layout-XL and Mentor Graphics Calibre) with emphasis on high-voltage verification is necessary.
Familiarity with scripting languages such as SKILL, Perl, or Python, and Calibre SRVF for automation enhancement is advantageous. Knowledge of digital block place and route is also beneficial.
