Job Overview
The role involves sustaining a clean and hygienic environment by thoroughly maintaining all floor surfaces and restroom facilities. The position aims to enhance customer trust and loyalty through consistent adherence to company operational standards. Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain tidiness and safety by keeping sales areas, liquor stores, offices, break and back rooms, training spaces, and restrooms in proper order, free from hazards. Operate floor care machinery and utilize departmental tools and cleaning chemicals effectively.
- Sweep and vacuum mats and rugs, returning them to their original spots, remove carpet stains, dispose of waste, and conduct deep restroom cleanings.
- Create a welcoming and appreciative atmosphere for customers to foster confidence and loyalty, meeting the company's standards for cleanliness and sanitation daily. Assist customers with locating or recommending products.
- Uphold safety protocols, food handling standards, sanitation, and productivity measures. Comply with USDA, COOL, DOA regulations, and handle product recalls and withdrawals swiftly, ensuring customer safety.
- Enforce safety measures by reporting unsafe conditions, accidents, or suspicious activities to management. Adhere to wage and hour laws and cultivate a safety-focused culture with proper training, use of personal protective equipment, and maintaining equipment in sound condition.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum age of 18 and legal authorization to work in the U.S.; successful pre-employment drug screening and background check required.
- Strong customer service skills coupled with excellent interpersonal, motivational, and communication abilities.
- Preferred education includes a High School diploma or GED; language skills in English and Spanish are advantageous.
- Experience ranging from none to three years is acceptable; supervisory experience is a plus.
Physical and Environmental Conditions
- Regular standing or walking on various flooring types, repetitive hand/foot movements, lifting up to 50 lbs, pulling loads up to 250 lbs, and occasional crouching, kneeling, or climbing up to 30 feet.
- Exposure to indoor/outdoor conditions including cold, wet, heated environments, noise, dust, fumes, cleaning toxins, and sharp objects.
- Use of cleaning equipment (supplies, registers, scanners, pallet jacks, etc.) and personal protective gear such as goggles, gloves, and back braces.
Work Schedule and Additional Information
- Shift schedules vary, with occasional travel but no overnight stays.
- Other duties as assigned by management may be required.
