Job Overview
The Floor Care Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean and hygienic environment across all floor surfaces and restrooms. This role supports exceptional customer experience by upholding consistent operating standards and promoting inclusivity within the team.
Core Responsibilities
- Maintain order and safety by keeping sales areas, liquor store, offices, breakrooms, backrooms, training rooms, and restrooms clean and hazard-free.
- Operate floor care equipment and use cleaning tools and chemicals appropriately for sweeping, vacuuming mats and rugs, removing carpet stains, waste disposal, and thorough restroom cleaning.
- Create a welcoming environment that fosters customer appreciation and loyalty by ensuring stores meet the company's cleanliness and sanitation criteria and assisting customers as needed.
- Enforce company protocols related to safety, food handling, sanitation, and productivity, including adherence to USDA, COOL, and DOA food safety standards.
- Execute product recalls and removals promptly, ensuring affected items are secured and inaccessible to customers.
- Ensure safety compliance through reporting hazards, accidents, unsafe behavior, theft, fraud, and illegal activities; support wage and hour regulations.
- Promote a culture of safety by following all safety procedures, verifying that associates receive appropriate training, ensuring availability and use of Personal Protective Equipment, and supervising equipment upkeep and hazard remediation.
Qualifications and Experience
- Must be at least 18 years old with authorization to work in the United States.
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Between 0 to 3 years of relevant experience.
- Strong customer service abilities with excellent interpersonal, motivational, and communication skills.
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening and background check required.
Environmental and Physical Demands
This retail role involves frequent standing, walking, and repetitive hand and foot movements. Tasks require reaching, lifting up to 50 lbs, pushing, and carrying with occasional climbing up to 30 feet. Working conditions can vary and include indoor/outdoor environments with exposure to cold, heat, humidity, noise, skin irritants, dust, fumes, sprays, and cleaning toxins. Safety gear such as goggles, gloves, and back braces are used, with handling of equipment like pallet jacks and balers.
Additional Information
- Travel is occasional and no overnight stays are required.
- The role operates across varied shifts to meet business needs.
