Role Overview
We are recruiting a Fire Protection Fitter to join our Sustaining department within the Fire Protection division. This role primarily involves operating a sustaining works van and will be based mostly in Dublin and the Leinster region, dependent on work availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Install various sprinkler systems with expertise and precision.
- Plan and execute small to medium projects, maintaining client communication and coordination.
- Conduct site surveys and collaborate closely with the design team to ensure project accuracy.
- Travel flexibly across different locations in the country as required.
- Have comprehensive knowledge of all sprinkler system types and components.
- Work independently and take initiative in daily operations.
- Possess a full drivers’ license (optional but preferable for van operation).
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective liaison.
- Perform tasks such as draining, refilling sprinkler systems, and managing fire pumps and related fire alarms.
- Interpret and plan work based on sprinkler system drawings and designs.
- Apply knowledge of LPC and FM sprinkler standards and regulations.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Valid Safe Pass and manual handling certification.
- Proven experience as a sprinkler pipefitter.
- Flexibility to travel to various sites nationwide.
- Ability to work proactively without supervision.
- Strong communication skills for effective teamwork and client interaction.
- Capability to perform under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Possession of a National Craft Certificate.
Desirable Attributes
- Previous experience in a similar role or enthusiasm to learn and grow.
- Competence in managing projects through to completion and participating in coordination meetings.
- Willingness to work outside typical office hours when needed.
- A background in construction or related fields.
