Job description
Role Overview
The Workshop Technician is responsible for safely overhauling and repairing aircraft components, ensuring all work complies with company and regulatory quality, safety, and technical standards. The role also involves inspecting, testing, and repairing components while maintaining strict adherence to guidelines. The Technician will support and train colleagues, including apprentices within the unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete assigned tasks promptly and professionally to optimize productivity.
- Ensure all completed work is properly documented and signed off as required.
- Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality aligned with company policies.
- Keep systems and handover documentation accurate and current.
- Assist with corrective measures related to audit findings.
- Use personal protective equipment correctly at all times.
- Verify technical documentation and test equipment calibration status regularly.
- Keep workspace clean and orderly at all times.
- Contribute to the development of new processes or enhancements in component capabilities.
- Report airworthiness or technical concerns promptly using the Q-Pulse System.
- Carry out additional duties assigned by the company as necessary.
Core Competencies and Skills
- Complete a recognized apprenticeship or traineeship with related examinations.
- Competent in repair, overhaul, or inspection of aircraft components and systems.
- Capable of obtaining company approvals pertinent to the work area.
- Strong understanding of technical requirements relevant to the business unit’s activities.
- Skilled at interpreting maintenance manuals, engineering drawings, and service bulletins.
- Commercially aware and focused on customer service.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate across departments and hierarchies.
- Flexible team player open to adapting to change.
- Proficient with basic computer tasks and eager to learn new systems and procedures.
- Pragmatic and adaptable to shifting priorities and urgent customer needs.
- Successful completion of Dublin Aerospace competency assessment, where applicable.
Essential Requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid airside pass and pass a 5-year security background check.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment medical assessment including drug tests.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel.
- Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Authorized to live and work in the Republic of Ireland without restrictions.
