Role Overview
The Financial Accountant will be instrumental in managing accounting functions to ensure timely and precise closing of monthly and quarterly accounts, as well as successful external audits. The role demands sharp attention on gross margins, net profits, free cash flow, and shareholder value enhancement.
Key Duties
- Support preparation of group accounts including consolidated monthly profit & loss, balance sheet, cash flow, ratio analysis, and detailed notes.
- Contribute to drafting detailed IFRS financial statements with supporting schedules.
- Assist in overseeing and managing the Group's foreign exchange risk.
- Maintain strong financial reporting and control standards across the organisation.
- Provide information for ad hoc analysis requests as needed.
- Support management and reporting activities related to working capital and its metrics.
- Participate in the creation of annual budgets and forecasts.
- Calculate and communicate financial and operational performance metrics.
- Report variances from budgets and forecasts to leadership.
- Help document and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
- Regularly collaborate with auditors.
- Prepare statutory returns including tax and employment filings.
- Oversee ongoing internal audit processes.
- Monitor key financial controls routinely.
- Assist in integrating acquired firms into the group, focusing on accounting and purchase agreement details.
- Support group-wide IFRS reporting implementation.
- Facilitate maintenance and enhancement of financial controls and reporting to support business operations.
- Contribute to development of financial processes and systems aligned with business scaling plans.
- Undertake additional tasks as assigned.
Candidate Profile
- Qualified Accountant with more than 3 years of post-qualification experience in relevant roles.
- Ability to work effectively under deadlines.
- Experienced collaborating with commercial, product, and operations leaders to aid their decision-making.
- Sound knowledge of managing businesses operating internationally across multiple locations.
- Experience with Salesforce/Financial Force platforms.
- Proficient user of Microsoft Excel and other Office tools.
