Position Summary and Responsibilities
The Pre-Sales Solution Architect collaborates closely with Account Management and engages directly with clients, up to C-level executives, to enhance their cybersecurity maturity. This role involves identifying client challenges and business requirements, then designing and promoting tailored technical and commercial cybersecurity solutions.
- Develop, advocate, and architect security technologies and managed services specific to assigned regions or technology focuses.
- Lead solution design processes and prepare technical responses to clients, including presentations, proposals, and RFPs, leveraging expertise from various business units where necessary.
- Contribute to service evolution by partnering with Product Management through conducting technology assessments and supporting new managed service development.
- Maintain strong team collaboration and contribute positively to the company's culture.
- Travel occasionally within Ireland and abroad as part of client engagement activities.
Key Duties
- Engage clients to ascertain their current security posture and business challenges, defining clear priorities and requirements.
- Craft innovative security solutions and managed services to bolster clients' security capabilities, maturity, and investment prioritisation networks against cyber risks.
- Prepare bills of materials, high-level designs, and scope professional services accordingly.
- Author compelling customer-facing proposals and collaborate with bid teams on RFI/RFP responses and commercial development alongside account managers.
- Present proposed solutions effectively to communicate benefits and value to customers.
- Architect integrated solutions that combine products, professional, and management services aligning with business needs and internal standards.
- Leverage vendor partnerships to tailor solutions using a wide range of product and service providers.
- Lead technical discussions with stakeholders and clients, influencing throughout the sales cycle to secure compliant solutions.
- Coordinate with Professional and Managed Services teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Apply experience in security consultancy for multi-vendor network design and implementation.
- Demonstrate a proven record in bidding on complex cybersecurity tenders and technical sales qualification.
- Build trusted advisory relationships with clients, advising on cybersecurity challenges and solutions.
- Exhibit negotiation and client influencing capabilities.
Desired Technology Expertise
- Experience with Managed Detection and Response (MDR) services and managed security operations.
- Familiarity with penetration testing tools and services.
- Strong knowledge of Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW), preferably Checkpoint or Fortinet.
- Understanding of Secure Service Edge (SSE) frameworks.
- Experience with Security Orchestration, Automation and Response (SOAR) platforms.
- Knowledge of Web Application Firewalls (WAFs) and endpoint security technologies.
- Proficiency with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools, especially Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, or Rapid7.
- In-depth understanding of vulnerability management and cloud security principles.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks such as Cyber Essentials, NIST, and CIS Critical Security Controls.
- Good grasp of cyber threats, threat actors, and tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), including MITRE ATT&CK methodology.
