Role Overview

The Financial Controller position is a full-time, onsite opportunity based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The role is pivotal in supervising all financial and accounting activities across the group. Responsibilities include generating monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring precise maintenance of the general ledger, and handling the financial closing process. The controller will also monitor budgeting, cash flows, and forecasts, carry out financial analyses to inform strategic decisions, and guarantee accurate, timely, and compliant financial disclosures to various stakeholders. Additionally, establishing and upholding internal controls, supporting audits, and ensuring tax and regulatory compliance are key tasks. Collaboration with senior management and operational units is essential to provide performance insights, manage financial risks, and optimize allocation of resources across all business units.

Qualifications and Competencies

• Proficient knowledge in Accounting and Finance, including accounting principles and corporate financial practices.
• Experienced in preparing and reviewing comprehensive Financial Statements and reporting for management and regulatory purposes.
• Strong analytical capabilities to interpret data, perform variance analysis, and deliver actionable financial insights.
• Skills in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and internal control system implementation.
• Relevant bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or allied fields; professional certifications such as CPA or ACCA are advantageous.
• Familiarity with accounting software, ERP systems, advanced Excel abilities, and local tax and regulatory standards applicable in Tanzania or similar jurisdictions.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills, with proven experience in multi-entity or group environments.
• Ability to operate effectively onsite within a high-paced environment while prioritizing competing deadlines, upholding ethical conduct, and maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
