Finance Site Lead

Role Summary

Serving as the Finance Lead/Financial Controller, you will be instrumental in ensuring the manufacturing site's success by combining rigorous financial management with active operational collaboration. Reporting directly to the Regional Finance Lead, this role involves partnering closely with the Plant Manager and the Site Leadership Team to optimize labor efficiency, improve yields, control costs, manage inventory, and enhance overall profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the local finance team to foster accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and a commitment to ongoing improvement aligned with operational and financial targets.
• Act as a dependable business partner to the Plant Manager and broader leadership team, facilitating informed decision-making.
• Analyze labor efficiency, yield, cost structures, and operational KPIs to drive financial performance improvements.
• Manage month-end closing activities ensuring prompt and precise financial reporting, detailed analysis, and insightful commentary.
• Offer transparent insights into financial and operational results, proactively identifying risks and uncovering opportunities.
• Collaborate with Operations and Supply Chain departments to boost efficiency, control expenditures, and optimize inventory levels.
• Constructively challenge site performance to promote actions that enhance profitability and operational effectiveness.
• Oversee the inventory management agenda, reducing stock holdings, improving inventory accuracy, and minimizing write-offs.
• Support capital expenditure decisions by developing solid business cases, conducting financial evaluations, and performing post-implementation reviews.
• Ensure compliance with financial governance, including balance sheet reconciliations, audit preparedness, and adherence to policies.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives across financial and operational workflows.

Candidate Profile

• Extensive experience in financial roles within manufacturing, FMCG, or comparable operational sectors.
• Proven leadership skills in guiding and developing finance teams.
• Expertise in financial reporting, data analysis, and business partnership.
• A track record of influencing operational decisions through data-driven financial insights.
• Proficiency in managing month-end close processes, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial controls.
• Solid understanding of cost control, inventory management, and operational key performance indicators.
• Strong commercial insight with the capability to interpret and positively affect margin performance.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving abilities, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Experience engaging with senior operational leaders and cross-functional teams.
• A proactive approach and a mindset oriented toward ongoing improvements.
• Effective communication skills enabling translation of financial data into actionable business strategies.
