Role Overview

This position focuses on managing and supervising the outbound and inbound shipments, ensuring timely delivery and proper coordination between carriers, suppliers, and customers. The Finance Clerk collaborates closely with inventory and warehouse teams to maintain accurate records, optimize stock levels, and uphold quality and safety standards throughout the shipping and receiving process.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee outbound shipment schedules and monitor timely deliveries.
  • Manage the receipt and inspection of incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders and supplier documentation.
  • Coordinate with carriers and logistics providers to arrange shipment schedules and prevent bottlenecks.
  • Verify order accuracy to match customer requests and purchase order details for both outgoing and incoming shipments.
  • Ensure proper packaging, labeling, and safe handling of shipments; conduct inspections for damages or discrepancies.
  • Maintain and update inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS), minimizing stock discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with inventory teams to balance stock levels and report shortages or surpluses.
  • Communicate with customers regarding order statuses, delays, or any shipment concerns, resolving issues promptly.
  • Prepare and manage documentation such as invoices, packing lists, delivery confirmations, and tracking records.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations during all outbound and inbound operations.
  • Work alongside warehouse and procurement departments to prioritize shipments and optimize fulfillment.
  • Train and support staff in both outbound logistics and inbound processes, promoting best practices to improve operational efficiency.
  • Identify and implement improvements to inbound and outbound logistics procedures, focusing on reducing errors and delays.
  • Monitor and report on inbound performance metrics and shipment discrepancies.
  • Maintain safety and quality control standards in all logistics activities.
  • Report nonconformities and engage in continuous improvement efforts within the logistics function.

Candidate Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management or a related field is preferred.
  • At least one year of experience performing similar logistics or inventory functions is desirable.
  • Knowledgeable in storage methods and inventory management principles.
  • Demonstrated skills in teamwork and personnel supervision.
  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel.
  • Familiarity with SAP and AS/400 systems.
  • Customer-oriented approach to problem handling and service.
  • Good documentation practices to ensure accurate record-keeping.
