Role Overview
The Warehouse Leader is responsible for managing and ensuring smooth outbound shipments with timely delivery, as well as coordinating the receiving of inbound shipments. This position guarantees outgoing orders accurately correspond to customer requests and purchase orders, and that incoming goods align with supplier documents.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee outbound shipments, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers and logistics providers for shipment scheduling and tracking.
- Inspect inbound and outbound shipments for damages, quality issues, and discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and minimize stock variances.
- Organize proper storage and packaging of inbound and outbound goods, ensuring appropriate labeling.
- Collaborate with inventory teams to optimize stock levels and communicate any shortages or surpluses.
- Communicate with customers regarding order statuses, delays, and issues, addressing shipment-related inquiries effectively.
- Prepare and manage shipping documentation, including invoices and packing lists for both inbound and outbound shipments.
- Train and guide warehouse staff on outbound and inbound logistics processes to enhance performance.
- Monitor operational performance, identify inefficiencies or delays, and implement best practices to improve logistics processes.
- Coordinate closely with related departments such as procurement and inventory control to ensure smooth operations.
- Ensure safety procedures and quality controls are upheld during all warehouse operations.
- Document and report nonconformities to promote continuous improvement initiatives within the warehouse area.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled university student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Logistics and Supply Chain Management or closely related fields.
- At least 1 year of experience in similar warehouse or logistics functions is preferred.
- Strong understanding of storage methods and inventory management.
- Ability to supervise personnel effectively and foster teamwork in a warehouse environment.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient with MS Office applications, especially Word and Excel.
- Experience with logistics and inventory systems such as SAP and AS/400.
- Customer-focused mindset with good documentation and record-keeping practices.
