Join Our Team at ALS

ALS is seeking a dedicated Field Technician to join our Chinchilla-based environmental team. Be part of a global scientific community committed to shaping a healthier future through data-driven insights and scientific testing.

Role Overview

This full-time position supports key clients in the coal seam gas (CSG) sector. The successful candidate will complete field sampling assignments within the Surat and Bowen Basin regions, working primarily with specialized field monitoring equipment and collecting environmental data.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Operate light vehicles equipped with specialized field monitoring tools
  • Accurately enter data into multiple management platforms
  • Maintain and troubleshoot both hardware and software equipment
  • Develop and sustain positive relationships with Land Access supervisors, Field Superintendents, and landowners
  • Adhere strictly to Land Access Rules

Additional Duties

  • Carry out water and gas sampling for CSG projects
  • Collect potable water and Water Treatment Plant samples
  • Undertake various environmental sampling tasks
  • Create and manage work permits
  • Collaborate with Client Services team to identify opportunities for expanding or enhancing services based on field observations

Candidate Profile

  • Holds a valid manual driver's license
  • CSG industry experience is preferred but not mandatory
  • Industry Safety Induction certification or equivalent is an advantage
  • Knowledge of personal/mechanical isolation and permit management is desirable
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities and rapport-building skills
  • Good organizational capabilities
  • Familiarity with the Darling Downs, Surat, and Bowen Basin regions is beneficial
  • A proactive, positive attitude

Training and Work Conditions

Comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided, including certifications in first aid, CPR, defensive 4WD driving, Industry Safety Induction, Swagelok training, and White Card inductions.

Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with occasional weekend and remote camp stays required.
