Job description

Overview

The Facilities Coordinator plays a crucial role in elevating the customer experience by leading external contractors, managing multiple projects, and ensuring timely completion of activities. This role involves creating strategic plans aligned with engineering department objectives. The incumbent will lead, develop, and coach the maintenance team, directly influencing site productivity and operational efficiency. Maintaining equipment availability and performance is essential to maximize site throughput.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the technical team to work safely, efficiently, and to standard while providing mentorship.
  • Collaborate with internal and network teams to leverage technical expertise and implement innovative solutions.
  • Maintain and improve Asset Performance Management (APM) metrics and exceed performance and compliance KPIs.
  • Assist the Reliability Engineering Manager with implementing, documenting, and auditing safety and statutory compliance alongside Site Safety and Leadership teams.
  • Adopt and enforce network standards focusing on preventative maintenance to ensure high equipment availability.
  • Ensure proper technical staffing by organizing training programs to maintain shift coverage.
  • Manage local projects or provide support for AMET level projects as delegated.
  • Apply practical engineering experience in supervisory roles managing staff.
  • Possess experience working with automated equipment such as packaging machinery, sortation, and conveyor systems.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Develop and manage annual maintenance contracts (AMCs) with vendors, ensuring appropriate service levels.
  • Lead a team of Maintenance Supervisors and Technicians by setting goals, prioritizing tasks, planning staff, and facilitating training to meet service objectives.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to Amazon Safety Policy and collaborating with the Safety team to enhance workplace safety.

Typical Daily Activities

  • Monitor and promptly address RME customer requests through the trouble ticketing system, demonstrating strong customer focus.
  • Oversee the quality of service from maintenance contract vendors and escalate issues related to service agreement failures.

Team Context

The Site RME team handles comprehensive building engineering and facility-related daily issues and projects, including both soft services and technical services related to Base Building and Material Handling Equipment (MHE).

Minimum Qualifications

  • Flexibility to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or comparable engineering discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC and control systems.
  • Comprehensive understanding of facility maintenance, management systems, relevant tools, and processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role with a thorough understanding of facility maintenance and operational best practices.
