Expert Quantity Surveyor - Civil Scope for Data Centers

Exyte is seeking a Civil Quantity Surveyor to oversee preconstruction commercial management specifically for the civil engineering scope on Data Center projects throughout Northern Europe.

The division has experience delivering a wide range of data centers globally, including advanced intelligence, hyperscale, colocation, and cloud computing facilities, using both traditional and modular construction methods.

Primary Responsibilities

• Produce comprehensive cost estimates for civil systems within data center projects.
• Interpret project drawings, technical specifications, and tender documents to accurately quantify materials and labor costs.
• Create detailed cost plans and budgets targeting the civil components of projects.
• Leverage digital quantification software such as Bluebeam, CostX, and Revit to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
• Contribute to procurement strategy formulation, including package segmentation and facilitating early acquisition of critical long-lead equipment and materials.
• Guarantee thorough identification and classification of all civil scope elements to support effective tendering and procurement processes.
• Manage tender issuance to subcontractors and suppliers for civil works.
• Assess and negotiate bids submitted by subcontractors to secure favorable terms and ensure quality delivery.
• Provide expert advice on procurement approaches tailored to civil engineering packages.
• Critically review design documents to identify value engineering possibilities and alternative specifications that optimize project value.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• Possession of a diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying or a closely related field.
• Minimum of five years of relevant, post-qualification experience, preferentially with a main contracting firm and experience specific to Data Center projects.
• Hands-on experience delivering Data Center projects with combined client budgets exceeding €500 million.
• Demonstrated success in managing commercial aspects of construction projects within the Data Center sector.
• Proven skills in negotiating subcontracts and procurement packages.
• Proficient with essential office software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
• Strong analytical thinking and logical problem-solving aptitude.
• High accuracy and attention to numerical detail.
