Senior/Director, Solution Engineering (Data Centers)

About the Role

We are supporting a thriving digital infrastructure platform expanding across Asia-Pacific, seeking a Senior Director or Director of Solutions Engineering in Singapore. This role is crucial to bridge customer needs with commercial, engineering, design, construction, and operational teams, ensuring the delivery of tailored, effective data center infrastructure solutions that support business growth and align with operational goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the creation of customized data center infrastructure offerings for enterprise, hyperscale, AI/HPC, cloud, and colocation clients.
• Convert customer business and technical demands into scalable, cost-efficient, and operationally viable solutions.
• Manage the entire technical solution lifecycle, from customer engagement to contract finalization.
• Design conceptual frameworks, draft technical specifications, build capacity models, and develop infrastructure proposals.
• Offer expert advice on key data center components, including electrical distribution, mechanical cooling, redundancy architectures, rack power density planning, AI and HPC deployments, and sustainability initiatives.
• Collaborate with business development and sales during customer pursuits and RFP processes, acting as the principal technical authority in meetings, presentations, and negotiations.
• Craft detailed technical narratives highlighting solution advantages, performance, scalability, and resilience.
• Support infrastructure sizing, resource allocation, cost estimation, pricing strategies, contract reviews, and risk assessments.
• Coordinate with design, engineering, construction, and operations teams to ensure feasible, standard-compliant solutions.
• Maintain technical governance and consistency across the solution portfolio, review design modifications, support customer fit-outs, and contribute to new product/service development.
• Monitor industry advancements in AI infrastructure, high-density deployments, liquid cooling, sustainability, energy efficiency, and alternative power.
• Support regional expansion by providing technical market intelligence and customer insights and influencing product roadmap and service innovation.
• Foster strong relationships with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders; mentor engineering and solutions teams; act as a trusted adviser to customers and senior leadership; and encourage cross-functional collaboration regionally.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Data Center Engineering, or related disciplines required; Master’s degree preferred.
• At least 12 years of experience in data centers, critical facilities, digital infrastructure, or mission-critical environments.
• Proven track record in solutions engineering, technical consulting, pre-sales engineering, or infrastructure solution development.
• Comprehensive understanding of data center design, operation, and customer requirements.
• Experience with hyperscale, cloud, colocation, AI/HPC, or enterprise clients is essential.
• Demonstrated leadership in customer-facing technical roles.
• Experience working across multiple Asia-Pacific markets is highly advantageous.

Technical Expertise

• Strong knowledge of data center electrical and mechanical systems.
• Familiarity with Tier III and Tier IV design standards.
• Expertise in capacity planning and utilization modeling.
• Understanding of high-density computing environments and AI/GPU infrastructure needs.
• Exposure to liquid cooling technologies and sustainability/energy efficiency strategies.
• Acquaintance with relevant industry standards and best practices.
• Ability to analyze and balance technical, operational, and commercial trade-offs.
