Job Overview
This is a full-time permanent role based in an office environment within a modern Australian manufacturing company specialising in laser cutting, folding, and sheet metal fabrication. The position offers a base salary up to $100,000 annually depending on experience, along with a performance-related bonus scheme.

Role Summary
In this position, you will collaborate closely with customers, drafting, and production teams to interpret technical drawings and create cost-effective manufacturing solutions. Your responsibilities include estimating and quoting customized components, reviewing technical specifications, and ensuring production feasibility. A key element is nurturing strong customer relationships and providing prompt technical support during the quoting phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and analyze technical drawings, designs, and client specifications.
- Generate precise estimates and quotations for manufactured parts.
- Evaluate jobs for manufacturability and choose suitable production methods.
- Coordinate with production and engineering teams effectively.
- Rapidly respond to urgent and critical customer needs.
- Suggest solutions for engineering challenges faced by customers.
- Maintain thorough documentation of estimates and quotations.
- Develop and sustain robust customer relationships.
- Manage multiple quotation tasks and priorities efficiently.
Required Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in sheet metal, laser cutting, fabrication, or similar manufacturing environments.
- Strong capabilities in reading and interpreting technical and engineering drawings.
- Competence with AutoCAD and Inventor software to develop sheet metal solutions.
- Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing workflows.
- Keen attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Comfortable using multiple computer systems and software platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to juggle competing priorities and address urgent customer requests promptly.
Desirable Attributes
- Experience in sheet metal cutting, folding, and rolling processes.
- Knowledge of Australian standards for sheet metal and raw materials.
- Hands-on skills with AutoCAD 2D and Inventor 3D software.
- Ability to create flat patterns and technical drawings for manufacturing.
- In-depth understanding of laser cutting and bending operations.
