About the Company

Our client is a reputable and expanding contractor specializing in a broad spectrum of civil engineering and construction projects throughout the North West and Cumbria. They engage in multiple sectors, handing infrastructure, utilities, refurbishment, and building projects, earning a strong standing through quality work, returning clients, and long-term partnerships.

Job Role

As an Estimator, you will have a central role in preparing competitive tender bids across a diverse portfolio that includes civil engineering and building projects. In collaboration with the Operations Director, Quantity Surveyor, and Project Managers, your core duties will include examining tender documents, developing precise cost estimates, and assisting in successful project delivery. Project budgets range from £250,000 to £2,000,000 and cover various types such as:

  • Civil engineering tasks
  • Infrastructure schemes
  • Utilities and substation projects
  • Drainage and pipe-laying works
  • Concrete and groundwork packages
  • Commercial and office refurbishments
  • Educational sector projects
  • General building assignments

This is a permanent, office-based position where you will be an essential member of a cooperative and close-knit team.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven background as an Estimator in construction, civil engineering, or infrastructure fields
  • Capability to price projects in both civil engineering and building disciplines
  • Experience generating accurate cost plans and tender proposals
  • Strong commercial insight and meticulous attention to detail
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
  • Capacity to work effectively with operational and commercial teams

Experience with utilities, substations, infrastructure, or refurbishment projects is highly desirable.
