Dawn Meats is a leading beef and lamb processing company in Europe, operating across Ireland, UK, France, and continental Europe, employing over 7,000 people. They are seeking an Environmental Technician to join their production team at their Carrolls Cross site in County Waterford, Ireland.

Role Summary

The Environmental Technician will oversee all environmental responsibilities on site, managing daily environmental activities and supporting various sustainability projects to ensure compliance and promote environmental best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and understand the onsite Wastewater Treatment Plant.
• Conduct laboratory analyses on effluent to monitor treatment efficiency and adjust operational setpoints and flows accordingly.
• Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly environmental records accurately.
• Collect comprehensive data related to effluent, energy, water usage, waste, and sustainability initiatives.
• Analyze collected data and develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for internal and external environmental reporting.
• Manage all waste streams exiting the facility and maintain an online register documenting them.
• Support the Environmental Manager in maintaining and improving ISO 50001 Energy Management System.
• Assist in the upkeep and enhancement of the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.

Candidate Qualifications and Skills

• Strong communication and problem-solving capabilities with fluency in English.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

This is a permanent, full-time position based onsite at Carrolls Cross, Co. Waterford.
