Despatch Operative

About the Role

Dawn Meats, a leading beef and lamb processing company in Europe with over 8,000 employees across Ireland, the UK, France, and continental Europe, is seeking a Despatch Operative for their Charleville, County Cork location. This permanent position involves coordinating and managing orders alongside loading and unloading goods effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Support full production and dispatch processes for customer orders.
• Operate forklift equipment to pick and pack orders as well as handle goods.
• Work within chilled and ambient temperature environments.
• Collaborate efficiently as part of a team to ensure smooth operations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area.
• Uphold rigorous Health and Safety standards at all times.
• Meet targets and job performance standards set by the Shift Manager.
• Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility in daily work tasks.
• Carry out reasonable requests made by the Shift Manager.
• Perform repetitive physical tasks including light, medium, and heavy lifting regularly.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Fluent in English with strong literacy and numeracy abilities.
• Proficient in forklift operation.
• Capable of working efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Physically fit to handle lifting requirements of the role.
• Ability to work cooperatively within a team environment.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Availability to cover evening shifts.
• Own transport is essential due to variable shift patterns.
