Position Overview

We are looking to add an Engineering Hydrologist / Water Engineer to our expanding Water team. This role is excellent for mid- to senior-level professionals with a solid foundation in hydrology, who are eager to apply their skills to diverse water engineering projects. Candidates with experience in consulting, local government, infrastructure, or related water fields are highly suited.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct hydrological studies including rainfall-runoff modeling, flood risk estimation, and catchment evaluation for various water projects.
• Provide support in flood risk management, climate resilience, and hydraulic and flood modeling efforts.
• Assist in designing and assessing hydraulic structures, stormwater systems, and water infrastructure.
• Prepare detailed and technically accurate reports, assessments, design documentation, and specifications.
• Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams comprising engineers, scientists, and planners.
• Engage with clients, councils, infrastructure providers, and project stakeholders to facilitate successful project outcomes.
• Contribute to business growth activities such as proposal writing and client relationship development according to experience.
• Mentor junior staff members and assist with sustaining high technical standards throughout the company.

Candidate Profile

• A degree in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience with hydrology, flood estimation, catchment modeling, or water resource assessments.
• Strong analytical abilities coupled with effective problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with hydrological analysis and modeling software is preferred.
• Effective written and verbal communication capabilities.
• Proven ability to work well with clients and within multidisciplinary teams.
• Curious and practical approach with an aptitude for translating complex technical data into understandable advice for stakeholders.
• A strong commitment to technical excellence and ongoing professional development.
• Having, or working towards, professional chartered status is advantageous.
