Job Overview

We are searching for a reliable, practical, and motivated Laboratory & Field Technician to join our Hawke's Bay team. Primarily based in the laboratory, the role also involves regular fieldwork to support geotechnical investigations and construction projects. Responsibilities include performing precise laboratory tests on soil, aggregate, and pavement samples, alongside conducting various field tests and site investigations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and test soil, aggregate, and pavement materials, including tasks such as grading, moisture content measurement, compaction, California Bearing Ratio (CBR), and plasticity testing.
• Record testing results accurately, maintain laboratory equipment, and keep work areas orderly.
• Perform field testing using tools like Scala, Nuclear Density Meter (NDM), Clegg Impact Tester, and shear vane equipment.
• Assist in sampling processes, excavation of test pits, hand augering, and conducting general site investigations.
• Travel to construction sites and carry out outdoor work under various weather conditions.
• Adhere strictly to relevant standards, company protocols, and health and safety requirements, ensuring high accuracy and quality in all tasks.
