Engine Life Management Team Engineer

About the Role

Join Pratt & Whitney, a leader in aircraft engine design, manufacturing, and service, based in Singapore at 61 Seletar Aerospace View. As a member of the Engine Life Management Team (ELMT) within Aftermarket & Sustainment Engineering (ASE) Asia Pacific, you will support engine centers and component repair shops in commercial engine overhaul and repair. Your role focuses on engineering support including repair development, limits development, structural analysis, engine investigation, data trending, salvage clinics, metrology, reverse engineering, project management, and shop support with occasional global travel.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure technical data complies with airworthiness standards to guarantee repairs and limits are safe, durable, and meet quality requirements; perform or oversee necessary analyses.
• Design repairs and conduct structural analyses as required.
• Assist customers in resolving field support issues by providing timely hardware assessment to support shop turnaround times, cost reduction, and scope minimization.
• Monitor hardware distress locally and contribute to spare parts provisioning based on distress trends and metrology results.
• Study component operating environments and interactions to develop repair strategies that enable damaged parts to return to service.
• Collaborate with CIPT/CAIPT/Shops to prioritize and address programmatic concerns and conduct engine investigations.
• Review repair process standard work and lead project initiatives.
• Lead technological research and development projects to support shops.
• Enhance knowledge of technologies, engine systems, business operations, regulations, and customer requirements continuously.
• Promote creative technical ownership and responsibility rotation within the regional ELMT Team community.
• Execute cost-efficient program development and delivery using Core methodologies.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical & Production, Materials Engineering, or equivalent field.
• 1 to 5 years of experience in the aerospace aftermarket or a similar maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) environment.
• Strong engineering aptitude with an ability for independent learning.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, including presentation capabilities.
• Good business judgment, result-oriented mindset, and adaptability in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with a 2nd upper class or higher distinction.
• Technical knowledge of commercial gas turbine engines or powerplants.
• Familiarity with project management processes, tools, and continuous improvement methodologies.

Additional Information

The role involves onsite work at Eagle Services Asia (ESA) Singapore, with possible deployments locally and abroad.
