About The Role and Organisation
Christchurch Engine Centre, a collaboration between Pratt & Whitney and Air New Zealand, specialises in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of Pratt & Whitney's V2500-A5 engines. Operating from a cutting-edge facility at Christchurch International Airport, it serves commercial airlines worldwide with advanced engineering and technology. Apprenticeship Program Details
This two-year apprenticeship will equip candidates to become qualified Aeronautical Engineers, specifically trained in V2500 engine MRO processes. Successful apprentices will earn the New Zealand Certificate in Aeronautical Engineering (Applied Skills), strand Powerplant – Level 4, and have a permanent employment opportunity post apprenticeship. The program encompasses the full scope of engine maintenance—from disassembly and inspection through to assembly and testing—enhancing skills in repair techniques, maintenance planning, release to service, and compliance.

- Completion of New Zealand Certificate in Aeronautical Engineering (Pre-Employment Skills) – Level 3
- Legal entitlement to work in New Zealand

- Ability to work rotating fortnightly shifts: Monday to Friday 7:00am–3:30pm and Sunday to Thursday 3:45pm–12:15am
