About the Role

Become an integral part of bpha's increasing Planned Works Team within their In-House Maintenance Service. This full-time permanent position offers a salary up to 43,000 DOE and covers Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and neighboring areas. The working hours are Monday to Friday with a rota between 8am and 5pm. Company van and tools are supplied.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform rewiring in kitchens and upgrades in bathrooms and shower rooms, including chasing and installing surface-mounted containment in both occupied and void properties.
  • Install new electrical circuits and modify existing circuits as necessary.
  • Replace consumer units when required.
  • Carry out inspection, testing, and certification of electrical systems, completing electrical installation certificates, minor works certificates, and installation condition reports with high accuracy.
  • Conduct fault diagnosis, repairs, and remedial electrical tasks.
  • Adhere strictly to BS 7671 wiring regulations in current edition.
  • Follow safe isolation procedures and testing protocols.
  • Collaborate closely with other tradespeople as part of kitchen refurbishment projects.
  • Provide a professional, customer-focused service inside customers' homes.
  • Manage your own planned works schedule and operate independently to meet deadlines.

Candidate Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation plus AM2 certification.
  • City & Guilds 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
  • Proven experience in domestic electrical installations, rewiring, testing, and fault finding.
  • Experience working within planned maintenance or refurbishment contexts.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of BS 7671 regulations and safe working standards.
  • City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing qualification is advantageous.
  • Strong abilities in customer service and communication.
  • Capability to work independently and efficiently manage a planned works timetable.
  • Possession of a full UK driving license.

Additional Information
