Job description
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Housing Officer to provide excellent tenancy and neighbourhood services across the Oxford to Cambridge arc. This permanent, full-time position offers a salary up to 37,000, including a 2,000 car allowance, dependent on skills and experience. The role involves a home-based setup with regular visits to customers and occasional attendance at the Head Office in Bedford Heights for team collaboration and meetings.
Key Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for managing rent collection and arrears, assisting tenants in maintaining their tenancies and reducing outstanding debts.
- Handle anti-social behaviour (ASB) cases sensitively and efficiently, ensuring timely resolutions and safeguarding awareness.
- Work collaboratively with Complex Case Housing Officers to deliver consistent, customer-focused services.
- Carry out estate inspections regularly, monitor estate services, and perform fire safety checks.
- Coordinate with internal departments and external partners to offer comprehensive support to residents.
- Manage tenancies in accordance with household needs, including making referrals and providing signposting to additional assistance.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience in housing or tenancy management, preferably within social housing environments.
- Strong knowledge of ASB legislation and best practices in case management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage rent arrears and promote financial wellbeing among tenants.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on residents' needs.
- Effective problem-solving, negotiation, and influencing capabilities.
- Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.
- Experience collaborating with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
