Job description
Position Overview
The Electrician role involves responding promptly to guest maintenance requests, communicating effectively to resolve issues, and carrying out preventive maintenance on kitchen and mechanical room equipment through cleaning and lubrication. The role requires thorough visual inspection of tools, equipment, and machines, as well as operating utility and equipment shut-off valves.
Key Responsibilities
- Address guest repair needs and maintain open communication with customers to resolve maintenance concerns.
- Conduct preventive upkeep of tools and mechanical equipment, including cleaning, lubrication, and inspections.
- Handle maintenance inventory by requisitioning parts and supplies whenever necessary.
- Utilize approved communication protocols to report daily activities and any issues encountered during shifts.
- Possess or develop foundational knowledge in air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building maintenance.
- Perform minor repairs such as surface preparation, painting, drywall and wood trim patching, light bulb and A/C filter replacement, including thorough site cleanup.
- Troubleshoot and repair various equipment and guestroom electrical components, plumbing fixes, and general maintenance items.
- Program televisions and manage engineering-related and housekeeping inventory tasks.
- Adhere to Lockout/Tagout safety protocol during maintenance work.
- Carry out landscaping maintenance and sprinkler repairs for interior and exterior areas.
- Demonstrate basic computer aptitude including scheduling air handlers and adjusting temperatures.
- Comply with company safety and security policies, report hazards and incidents promptly, and complete necessary safety training and certifications.
- Maintain professional appearance and confidentiality, welcome guests warmly, and support an inclusive, team-oriented environment.
- Handle physical tasks involving lifting, carrying, and moving objects up to 50 pounds, stair and ladder use, and various physical postures such as reaching, bending, and stooping.
- Perform additional reasonable duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Preferred Experience
- Minimum education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Some experience with general maintenance including interior and exterior surface preparation and painting is preferred.
- Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance environment is advantageous.
- Holding a valid Driver’s License is required.
- No supervisory responsibilities required for this role.
