Electrician

Job Overview

We are seeking a qualified electrician based in Oxford to join a permanent full-time team. This role involves hands-on, fieldwork maintaining, repairing, and installing electrical systems in both vacant and occupied properties. The electrician will ensure homes remain safe, compliant, and resident-ready through reactive repairs, planned maintenance, and participation in refurbishment projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out reactive repairs on lighting circuits, sockets, fuseboards, and other electrical systems.
• Conduct inspections and tests on electrical installations ensuring they meet safety standards and regulatory compliance.
• Repair or replace defective components like switches, outlets, light fittings, and circuit breakers.
• Work independently or collaboratively to meet daily repair objectives.
• Effectively communicate with tenants/residents about repair details and expected results.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in work areas after job completion.
• Strictly follow health and safety guidelines and procedures.
• Deliver excellent customer service consistently.
• Respond to emergency call-outs, which may include out-of-hours shifts.
• Perform installation, service, repair, and maintenance in a variety of domestic properties.
• Use IT systems to organize and prioritize workloads to ensure timely completion of repairs.

Candidate Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations including AM2 assessment completion.
• Possession or willingness to upgrade to City & Guilds 18th Edition wiring regulations.
• Valid full UK driving license with a clean driving record (under 9 points, held for over 3 months).
• Experience in domestic and social housing electrical work.

• Annual salary up to £45,430 plus a company van and fuel card.
• Work schedule: 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.
