Job description
Job Overview
We are seeking a qualified electrician based in Exeter to join our expanding team. This full-time permanent position offers an annual salary of up to £40,019.70, along with a company van and fuel card. The working hours are 42.5 hours per week, typically 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday.
Role Responsibilities
- Perform reactive repairs on lighting circuits, sockets, fuseboards, and other electrical systems in domestic properties.
- Conduct inspections and testing of electrical installations to ensure they meet safety and regulatory compliance.
- Replace or fix faulty electrical components such as switches, outlets, light fittings, and circuit breakers.
- Operate both independently and collaboratively to achieve daily repair goals.
- Effectively communicate with tenants or residents about repair details and expected outcomes.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of work areas following task completion.
- Comply rigorously with all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Deliver excellent customer service at all times.
- Respond promptly to emergency callouts, including possible out-of-hours shifts.
- Engage in installation, servicing, repair, and maintenance of a broad range of domestic properties.
- Utilize relevant IT systems to manage and prioritize workload efficiently.
Candidate Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installations including AM2 assessment.
- City & Guilds 18th Edition certification (those holding 17th Edition may enroll to upgrade).
- Valid full UK driving license with a clean driving record (under 9 points) and over 3 months held.
- Prior experience in domestic or social housing electrical work is preferred.
- Preferably hold Inspection and Testing qualifications such as 2391, 2394, or 2395.
