Job Overview

We are seeking a proficient Electrical Testing Engineer to become part of our team at a confidential government entity in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. This role requires extensive practical experience in testing, commissioning, inspection, and diagnosing problems with electrical systems and equipment.

Key Duties

  • Execute electrical testing, inspection, and commissioning of various electrical systems and devices.
  • Test transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, protection systems, current transformers (CTs), voltage transformers (PTs), and similar electrical apparatus.
  • Conduct insulation resistance checks, continuity assessments, earth resistance testing, and transformer performance evaluations.
  • Perform verification and functional tests on relay and protection systems.
  • Analyze electrical diagrams, testing methods, and technical documentation.
  • Identify and resolve electrical faults and any issues encountered during testing.
  • Generate comprehensive test and inspection reports alongside technical documentation.
  • Ensure all testing practices meet international standards, safety protocols, and approved procedures.
  • Collaborate with project teams, clients, contractors, and stakeholders throughout the testing and commissioning processes.
  • Maintain and calibrate testing instruments accurately.
  • Provide technical support and advice during on-site activities as necessary.

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Between 4 to 6 years of relevant experience in electrical testing and commissioning.
  • Hands-on proficiency with electrical testing instruments and equipment.
  • Solid understanding of electrical protection systems and standardized testing procedures.
  • Experience working with low, medium, and/or high voltage electrical systems is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of international standards including IEC, IEEE, and NFPA.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and technical specifications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills focused on troubleshooting electrical systems.
  • Effective communication and documentation abilities.
  • Willingness to undertake travel for project site visits when required.

Preferred Certifications

  • Certifications in Electrical Testing and Commissioning.
  • Protection Relay Testing certification.
  • Relevant safety certifications.
