Role Overview

This position calls for a highly meticulous and analytical Electrical Inspector focused on streetlighting systems within the Roads Operations and Maintenance sector based in Doha, Qatar. The successful candidate will be accountable for thorough inspections of streetlighting infrastructure to confirm adherence to electrical standards and uphold safety and operational standards across road lighting networks.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and thorough inspections of streetlighting fixtures and electrical components along roadways.
• Utilize specialized electrical testing instruments to evaluate equipment functionality and verify safety compliance.
• Prepare comprehensive reports documenting inspection outcomes, detected defects, and maintenance needs.
• Detect electrical hazards, safety breaches, and violations, proposing effective corrective measures.
• Ensure all streetlighting installations conform to relevant electrical codes, standards, and regulatory policies.
• Collaborate with maintenance crews to facilitate prompt resolution of identified faults.
• Maintain detailed logs of inspections, results, and subsequent corrective actions.
• Conduct quality control assessments on new or repaired streetlighting systems.
• Analyze reported lighting malfunctions to identify underlying causes.
• Follow health, safety, and environmental regulations strictly throughout inspection activities.

Qualifications and Skills

• Previous experience in electrical inspection or a related role focusing on electrical systems.
• Specialist knowledge in streetlighting and roadway illumination infrastructure.
• Solid understanding of electrical codes, safety practices, and standards relevant to streetlighting.
• Skilled in operating electrical diagnostic tools such as multimeters and insulation testers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications in electrical inspection or related electrical disciplines.
• Hands-on experience with streetlighting maintenance and repair.
• Familiarity with the standards governing municipal or governmental infrastructure.
• Experience working with computerized inspection and documentation systems.
• Knowledge of local electrical regulations and standards specific to Qatar.
