About the Role
This opportunity is with a family-owned organization that is growing across multiple U.S. states, serving sectors such as Industrial, Automotive, Commercial, Specialty, and Utilities. The Electrical Estimator position offers an annual compensation ranging between $120,000 and $170,000, inclusive of bonuses, with full benefits coverage by the company and a 401k matching program.
Primary Responsibilities
- Analyze electrical schematics, technical specifications, and project needs to formulate precise cost estimations.
- Conduct thorough quantity take-offs for labor, materials, and equipment to craft detailed bid proposals.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify project parameters and tackle potential obstacles.
- Source competitive pricing by liaising with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Identify possibilities for cost reductions and value engineering while preserving project quality and compliance.
- Ensure all estimates adhere to industry codes, relevant regulations, and safety standards.
- Compile and deliver comprehensive bid presentations including cost breakdowns, schedules, and risk evaluations.
- Maintain and update cost databases, historical pricing data, and labor rates to enhance estimating precision over time.
- Provide support during contract negotiations, manage change orders, and adjust budgets during project implementation.
Qualifications
- At least one year of experience in electrical estimating within construction, industrial, or commercial environments.
- Familiarity with estimating software platforms such as Accubid or equivalent tools.
- Strong understanding of electrical codes, industry practices, and National Electrical Code (NEC) standards.
