Position Overview
The Electrical Estimator supports the Preconstruction Manager by preparing cost estimates for smaller projects. This role requires careful review of construction plans and specifications, subcontractor coordination, and client relations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Create bids using the Accubid software platform.
- Analyze construction documents, including drawings and specifications, to fully understand the project scope before bidding.
- Conduct take-offs and quantity counts from construction documents utilizing Livecount technology.
- Solicit and obtain pricing for materials and subcontractor bids.
- Collaborate with the Preconstruction team and Project Managers during project transitions.
- Maintain comprehensive databases on products, vendors, subcontractors, and regulatory requirements.
- Build and nurture relationships with clients to support business development.
- Participate actively in contract review sessions and negotiation meetings.
- Attend mandatory preconstruction meetings as needed.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years practical electrical field experience in commercial and industrial settings.
- At least 3 years of experience specifically in electrical estimating.
