  • Review timesheets, paid time off balances, and attendance before each payroll run to ensure accuracy.
  • Administer direct deposits, final paychecks, pay cards, and manual payments adhering to state-specific regulations.
  • Manage garnishments, medical support orders, and co-ordinate with third-party vendors.
  • Enter and update employee information in the HRIS system, including tax changes, direct deposit modifications, new hires, and terminations.
  • Identify and make corrections to pay discrepancies, retroactive adjustments, and errors from previous payroll periods.
  • Generate and examine payroll reports to verify correctness before and after each payroll cycle.
  • Stay informed on federal and state payroll laws and recommend updates as necessary.
  • Provide support and training on timekeeping for both store and corporate managers.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all payroll data and documentation.

Candidate Requirements

  • At least 2 years of payroll processing experience, especially in multi-location or high-volume retail settings preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of federal and state wage and hour legislation.
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms and automated timekeeping systems.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and the entire Microsoft Office suite.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with a low tolerance for discrepancies.
  • Capability to manage multiple deadlines effectively without errors.
  • Excellent communication abilities suitable for interacting with employees at all organizational levels.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC).
  • Educational coursework in accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
  • Experience handling garnishment processing and medical support obligations.
  • Background in retail or multi-state payroll administration.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual salary ranging from $55,000 to $65,000.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance plans.
  • 401(k) plan featuring a generous employer match.
  • Employee discount, extended to one family member.
  • Paid parental leave available for both parents.
  • Company-paid life insurance and short-term disability coverage.
  • A vibrant company culture enriched with team appreciation events.
