Electrical Engineer

Job Overview

The Electrical Site Engineer is tasked with overseeing and executing all electrical activities at the construction site in alignment with approved designs, industry norms, and safety protocols. The role demands collaboration with contractors, technicians, and project teams to ensure proper and timely installation, testing, and commissioning of various electrical systems including wiring, control panels, cabling, lighting, power distribution, and equipment. Monitoring progress, resolving technical difficulties, assuring quality, and maintaining accurate documentation are key responsibilities to guarantee flawless and punctual completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Examine electrical layouts, drawings, and technical specifications thoroughly.
• Organize daily tasks and align efforts between electrical and overall project teams.
• Verify availability of materials, coordinating closely with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Implement strict adherence to electrical safety standards and deliberate hazard mitigation.
• Ensure consistent use of personal protective equipment and safe operational procedures among workers.
• Maintain detailed site logs, progress reports, and testing documentation.
• Communicate project status, challenges, and updates to management.
• Prepare and finalize as-built drawings and related handover documentation.
• Promptly resolve site-related issues, equipment malfunctions, and design discrepancies.
• Provide technical advice and supervision to laborers and contractors on site.
• Supervise installation of electrical components such as wiring, conduits, cable trays, distribution boards, control panels, power and lighting fixtures, earthing systems, generators, transformers, and UPS units.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (B.E./B.Tech) or Diploma in Electrical Engineering (especially for junior or mid-level positions).
• Relevant work experience ranging from 6 months up to 2 years in an electrical engineering role.
