Executive/Senior Engineer (Protection)

Role Overview

This position involves offering expert consultation and technical support concerning protection systems across various departments including planning, engineering, projects, and maintenance. The role requires active participation in design reviews, site testing, data analysis, and continuous improvement of the protection philosophy in alignment with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and advise on protection system matters to support ongoing initiatives and projects within planning, engineering, and other departments.
• Review and validate contractor submissions, including comprehensive designs and detailed schematics, related to protection in the project's planning phase.
• Lead teams overseeing contractor-conducted site acceptance tests on protection systems for substations, equipment renewals, and distribution projects within projects or maintenance departments.
• Direct testing teams to execute protection testing services for distribution and maintenance projects.
• Provide on-call standby duty to promptly respond to protection system alarms or incidents.
• Compile, analyze, and interpret data and incidents concerning protection systems to facilitate continuous improvement.
• Document and maintain updated protection philosophies, encompassing protection coordination studies and system designs.
• Conduct training sessions and briefings for both internal staff and external stakeholders to enhance understanding of protection-related topics.
• Undertake administrative and logistic tasks to ensure smooth daily operations and support company initiatives.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering accredited by the Professional Engineers Board Singapore.
• Strong analytical abilities with a self-driven attitude to acquire engineering knowledge and practical skills.
• Calm and patient demeanor suited for precise and attentive site work.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within teams.
