We seek a dedicated Early Learning Centre Manager for our Auckland campus. This facility caters to children aged from 3 months to 5 years, accommodating up to 115 children. It incorporates New Zealand’s Te Whāriki curriculum with the Reggio Emilia approach, enriching learning with literacy, numeracy, science, Reading Buddy, music, and movement programs aimed at nurturing curiosity and a lifelong passion for learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Offer strategic leadership to ensure effective management and success of the Early Learning Centre.
  • Initiate and manage enrolment strategies via marketing, family engagement, and retention programs.
  • Lead delivery of educational programs aligned with Te Whāriki and Reggio Emilia philosophies.
  • Create safe, inclusive, and encouraging environments promoting child wellbeing and development.
  • Recruit, develop, and manage a talented team, focusing on staff growth and succession planning.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with families, whānau, staff, and the community.
  • Ensure compliance with all licensing, regulatory, and organizational standards.
  • Monitor financial metrics, including budgets and resource allocation.
  • Advocate for a robust culture of health, safety, and risk management.
  • Uphold safeguarding policies, professional standards, and ethical leadership.

Qualifications and Candidate Profile

  • At least five years of leadership experience in early childhood education or a similar setting, demonstrating ability to inspire and manage high-performing teams.
  • Possess a recognized teaching qualification (e.g., Bachelor of Education (Secondary) or equivalent), with accreditation from the New Zealand Education Department.
  • Strong knowledge of Te Whāriki curriculum and ECE licensing standards.
  • Child-focused with a passion for early childhood education, committed to positive developmental outcomes.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills fostering collaborative partnerships with families, whānau, colleagues, and community stakeholders.
  • Commercially savvy, balancing educational quality with operational performance and enrolment growth targets.
  • Highly organized, accountable, capable of managing multiple priorities and delivering exceptional results.
  • Resilient and adaptable, driven to solve challenges in dynamic environments and lead change effectively.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, able to influence and collaborate across diverse groups.
  • Ethical and values-driven with unwavering commitment to safeguarding, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Additional Role Requirements

  • Willingness to undergo New Zealand police screening before employment.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining accreditation.
  • Assist with lunch and playground supervision, as well as pick-up and drop-off duties.
  • Open to attending occasional school events outside regular hours (e.g., open days).
