Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Chinese Teacher for Years 7 to 13 to join ACG Strathallan permanently starting Term 1, 2027. The successful candidate will specialize in delivering engaging, differentiated lessons, support students' development, and contribute actively to school life.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute inspiring lessons aligned with curriculum standards, tailored to individual student needs to promote outstanding progress.
• Continuously monitor and assess students' learning, providing constructive feedback to foster growth and achievement.
• Create a classroom atmosphere where students feel respected, supported, and motivated to take educational risks.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues to exchange effective teaching practices and engage in ongoing professional development.
• Contribute to extracurricular activities and whole-school initiatives to enrich student experience beyond academics.
• Build and maintain strong, communicative relationships with parents to support each student’s unique educational journey.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Proven experience in teaching Chinese to secondary school students (Years 7–13), capable of motivating diverse learners.
• Skilled in preparing differentiated lesson plans that enhance learning outcomes and student wellbeing.
• Experienced in assessing student progress, maintaining accurate records, and communicating feedback to students and families effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to manage classrooms well and foster positive relationships with all school community members.
• Background in coaching and leading sports teams, encouraging participation and teamwork.
• Active involvement in extracurricular programs, events, camps, and pastoral care activities.
• Familiarity with Cambridge International curriculum is a bonus but not mandatory.
• Registered New Zealand Teacher with relevant qualifications (e.g. BA or MBA in Education).
