Duty Manager - Ground Support Equipment Maintenance

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Duty Manager with a solid background in aviation service management and a strong focus on service delivery. The successful candidate will lead, motivate, and inspire multiple teams to provide outstanding customer experiences in alignment with the Swissport service standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish optimal conditions for maintenance and repair of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) based on manufacturer guidelines and site fixtures.
• Develop and implement a monthly maintenance schedule covering all equipment and facility fixtures.
• Coordinate with procurement and Business Line Management to plan and submit requisitions for consumables and spare parts, including those from overseas suppliers.
• Monitor GSE fuel usage, detect irregularities, propose cost-saving initiatives, and verify fuel vouchers and allocations.
• Initiate purchase requests and liaise with procurement to ensure timely availability of spare parts for both preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Manage the Maximo system by converting service requests into work orders, ensuring completion and closure according to electronic work order protocols.
• Collaborate with Maintenance Managers and SDL Maintenance Production teams to optimize inventory levels in the GSE store.
• Maintain accurate filing of maintenance records, government inspections, and water analysis reports.
• Ensure the Daily Fleet Status Report in Maximo remains precise and up-to-date.
• Track, monitor, and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with all available tools, including Maximo.
• Enforce compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies, and regulatory standards to ensure a high-quality customer service experience.
• Ensure safety, health, and environmental standards are met and maintained within the responsible area.

Qualifications and Competencies

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Diploma in Automotive Mechanical Engineering or equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in a relevant role.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commercial awareness and acumen.
• Effective planning abilities, great attention to detail, and a collaborative team player mindset.
• Proven leadership and people management capabilities.
