About the Role
The Duty Manager acts as the on-duty property manager overseeing all hotel operations to guarantee premium guest experiences and smooth functioning. This position plays a pivotal role in managing guest relations, resolving concerns, supervising lobby guest interactions, and ensuring adherence to service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain strong collaboration with all departments to support hotel goals and swiftly resolve operational challenges.
- Communicate deviations from standard procedures promptly to relevant teams and distribute daily Manager on Duty reports.
- Drive continuous improvement in service quality while enforcing compliance with policies and procedures.
- Monitor staffing to balance guest service demands with operational and financial objectives.
- Review financial and operational reports to identify cost-saving and efficiency opportunities.
- Intervene in guest or employee incidents to uphold property integrity and satisfaction.
- Empower and lead staff to deliver excellent customer service and set exemplary hospitality standards.
- Handle guest complaints and collect ongoing feedback on service and satisfaction.
- Participate in corrective action planning to enhance guest experience.
- Engage in human resources activities such as accident investigations, service performance feedback, and cross-training for staff.
- Conduct regular inspections addressing appearance, safety, security, and maintenance.
- Recognize team achievements and consistently apply property policies and disciplinary protocols.
- Implement emergency response plans as required including accidents, security threats, and other crisis situations.
Candidate Profile
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED plus four years in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related hospitality roles; OR
- A two-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related field plus two years experience in similar areas.
