Job description
Position Overview
The Storekeeper role at Sheraton Hotels & Resorts involves managing the receipt, storage, and distribution of merchandise within the facility to ensure smooth operations and maintain quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive deliveries and organize merchandise by department, clearly labeling items for appropriate storage or distribution.
- Stack items efficiently on pallets or carts and complete necessary requisition forms for inventory tracking.
- Monitor stock levels, promptly informing supervisors when replenishment is required.
- Handle perishables with care by storing correctly and rotating stock to maintain freshness and safety.
- Inspect deliveries for quality, freshness, cleanliness, and correctness; reject damaged or incorrect goods.
- Adhere strictly to food safety and handling guidelines across all related areas.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of refrigerators, freezers, floors, equipment, and drains within storage areas.
- Dispose of empty pallets, packaging materials, and trash by placing them in designated storage or waste zones.
- Report any accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions and participate in all required safety training and certification programs.
- Comply fully with company policies, maintain professional personal appearance, and protect company assets and confidential information.
- Communicate courteously and professionally with guests and colleagues.
- Contribute positively within the team to achieve shared goals and uphold quality assurance standards.
- Manage physical tasks including standing, sitting, walking for extended periods, lifting items up to 50 pounds independently, and navigating various types of surfaces and confined spaces.
- Carry out additional reasonable duties as directed by supervisors.
Qualifications
- Minimum education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- No prior work or supervisory experience required.
- No license or certification needed.
