Help at Home is actively seeking compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and communities. Primary Responsibilities
- Providing one-on-one support to individuals with developmental disabilities to promote independent living both at home and within the community
- Assisting with daily tasks such as meal preparation, housekeeping, personal hygiene, and transportation
- Encouraging engagement in social and community activities like shopping and events
- Supporting individuals in achieving personal goals and recognizing their accomplishments
- Fostering choice, independence, and self-advocacy skills
- Maintaining precise documentation of care provided, activities, and progress
- Effectively communicating with team members to ensure consistent, high-quality support
Eligibility Criteria
- Minimum age of 18 years
- Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent
- Successful passage of background checks and completion of required training
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance (primary or secondary)
- Ability to work safely and respectfully in clients’ homes and community environments
- A compassionate attitude, reliability, and commitment to making a positive difference
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities or autism, including applying Individual Activity Support Plans (ASP) and Plans of Service and Supports (PSS)
- Familiarity with basic behavior support techniques such as redirection, visual cues, and environmental adaptations
