About the Role
Help at Home is currently seeking dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professionals to provide individualized assistance to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and local communities. Key Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with daily living functions including meal preparation, housekeeping, personal hygiene, grooming, and transportation.
- Promote involvement in social and community activities such as shopping and special events.
- Support clients in achieving their personal goals and positively acknowledging their progress.
- Encourage autonomy by fostering choice, independence, and advocacy skills.
- Maintain accurate records of care activities and client progress.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to maintain consistent and high-quality support.
Candidate Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Clear a successful background check and complete required training.
- Hold a valid driver’s license and have dependable transportation with proof of insurance.
- Ability to work respectfully and safely in clients' homes and public settings.
- Exhibit compassion, dependability, and a strong desire to positively impact others’ lives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) or autism.
- Knowledge of implementing Individual Activity Support Plans (ASP) and Plans of Service and Supports (PSS).
- Familiarity with basic behavior support methods such as redirection, visual cues, and environmental modifications.
