DevOps Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to enhance our infrastructure team by evolving build, test, and deployment processes. The role involves designing scalable pipelines, reducing cycle times, and strengthening security and observability across delivery workflows. You will collaborate closely with various engineering teams to address technical stack challenges and deployment needs, improving workflows to streamline code delivery.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions for diverse microservices built with Python, Go, Java, Kotlin, TypeScript, and Unity applications.
• Develop pipeline templates and shared workflows to prevent redundancy across repositories.
• Integrate security practices into delivery processes, including static and dynamic application security testing (SAST/DAST), dependency and secret scanning, and software bill of materials (SBOM) generation.
• Optimize build performance through caching strategies and parallelization techniques.
• Enhance release automation, covering version control, approval workflows, database migrations, feature flag management, and release documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers to elevate developer experience by aligning local development environments with production, offering preview environments, pull request checks, and incorporating AI-assisted workflows.
• Implement monitoring and observability solutions for pipelines and deployments, including metrics collection, logging, alerts, and dashboard creation.
• Provide support during deployment and release incidents to ensure swift resolution.
• Continuously assess and adopt modern, cost-efficient tools and practices to maintain an advanced delivery pipeline.

Qualifications

• A minimum of three years' experience in DevOps, Developer Experience (DevEx), Site Reliability Engineering, or Platform Engineering roles.
• Proficient scripting and automation capabilities using Bash combined with at least one language from Node.js, Go, or Python.
• Deep expertise with GitHub and proficiency in GitHub Actions workflows.
• Strong troubleshooting ability, adept at analyzing CI logs, build systems, and runtime environments for effective debugging.
• Solid understanding and practical experience with containerization technologies, particularly Docker.
• Hands-on experience managing Kubernetes clusters.
• Experience deploying applications to cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure, including configuration of Identity and Access Management (IAM) and networking settings.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies, preferably using Terraform.

Preferred Additional Skills

• Experience working with monorepos and advanced build systems like Bazel, Nx, Turborepo, or Pants.
• Expertise administering GitHub Enterprise Server in a self-hosted environment.
• Knowledge managing self-hosted JFrog Artifactory and associated JFrog tools.
• Understanding of supply chain security measures such as SLSA, Sigstore, provenance, signing, and attestations.
• Familiarity with observability tools including Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, and OpenTelemetry.
